Switch Kit

Switching your account to Leading Edge Credit Union doesn’t have to be difficult. We have an Account Switch Kit to help simplify the process. Please follow the steps below to guide you through the process of switching your account to Leading Edge Credit Union.

1. Open a Leading Edge Credit Union Account – our primary share account is a great way to start saving while your money is kept safe, insured and earns interest.

2. Begin moving your existing electronic authorizations.

• Switch your direct deposits to your Leading Edge Credit Union account – Switch all direct deposits you have by completing the Authorization to Change Direct Deposit form. (Please note: some employers may require you complete their Direct Deposit form and may not accept the Authorization to Change Direct Deposit Form provided by LECU.) Leading Edge Credit Union
  • To change your social security direct deposits, visit www.ssa.gov/deposit/howtosign.htm or call 1-800-772-1213 (TTY 1-800-325-0778) or come to any of our branches and we will assist you in completing the direct deposit form.

• Switch your Automatic and Online Payments – switch all automatic payments/withdrawals you may have by contacting the company you are paying and giving them your new Leading Edge Credit Union checking account information.

3. Close old accounts.

• Close your old account – Once all of the outstanding payments and deposits have cleared your old account and you are sure there will be no further activity, please fill out the Existing Account Closing form. This form will instruct your previous financial institution where to send any remaining balances.
